Vishnu Vishal discusses eight-year mental health journey
Actor and producer Vishnu Vishal has shared details regarding his eight-year struggle with anxiety and depression. In a post on X, the actor noted that his symptoms first appeared in 2018 following personal setbacks after the success of the film Ratsasan.
Vishal explained that he initially attempted to manage his mental health by focusing intensely on his career, operating under the belief that a major professional success would resolve his internal struggles. However, he noted that even after the success of films like FIR and Gatta Kusthi 2, his internal state remained unchanged. He cited the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and professional challenges, including unfulfilled promises from producers and directors, as factors that intensified his anxiety.
To manage his condition, Vishal has utilized professional counseling, therapy, and medication. He urged others not to sacrifice small moments of happiness in pursuit of an imaginary “big picture,” stating that “the next big success is not going to fix anything forever.”
