Vishvendra Singh signals exit from Congress amid leadership dispute

Former Rajasthan minister Vishvendra Singh has signaled his intention to leave the Indian National Congress following a growing dispute with Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Govind Singh Dotasra.

The conflict escalated after Singh criticized Dotasra regarding party performance in the Bharatpur-Deeg region and raised concerns about recruitment examinations and organizational functioning. In response to complaints from district presidents, the Congress disciplinary committee, led by Udaylal Anjana, issued a notice to Singh involving eight allegations, including making disparaging remarks against party leadership and showing indifference toward organizational activities.

Singh responded to the notice via social media, stating that while the party is free to take action, he is also free to decide his own political future. He emphasized his commitment to self-respect, noting, “It is better to die with dignity than to die a slow death.” Dotasra has indicated that the party will investigate the matter through its disciplinary committee and will consider Singh's concerns, noting their long-standing professional relationship.
