Vision Network hosts 8th summit for female leaders and executives

The 8th Vision Network meeting, organized by a committee including the Tokyo, Yamagata, and Hiroshima prefectural governments, was held to discuss creating a society where both men and women can thrive. The event brought together female heads of local governments, female ambassadors to Japan, and business leaders to share insights on career development, health, work-life balance, and organizational well-being.

During the conference, participants issued a declaration focused on three key pillars: promoting female participation in decision-making processes across politics and economy, reforming social consciousness to ensure gender-neutral regional revitalization, and investing in the development of the next generation of leaders.

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike emphasized that female leadership provides new perspectives to administration and business, noting that creating an environment where everyone can utilize their abilities requires both institutional support and a shift in social mindset. In conjunction with the meeting, a ‘Vision Network Marche’ pop-up shop and online store were launched to promote local specialties from regions led by these female executives.
