VisionQuest showrunner explains Ultron’s survival

Terry Matalas, the showrunner for the Disney+ miniseries ‘VisionQuest’, has revealed how the character Ultron survives following the events of ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. According to Matalas, the character Vision showed mercy by backing up Ultron’s AI program to his own internal hardware rather than destroying him entirely.

In the eight-episode series, Ultron will exist as one of several AI personas living within Vision’s mindspace. These personas will appear in human form to help Vision navigate his identity while he lives in hiding. The series follows Vision as he goes on the run with a mysterious teenager following his resurrection in ‘WandaVision’.
