Visma | Lease a Bike targets French rider Paul Seixas
Nineteen‑year‑old French cyclist Paul Seixas, currently under contract with Decathlon CMA CGM until the end of 2027, has attracted interest from the Dutch WorldTour team Visma | Lease a Bike. Team manager Richard Plugge said the squad sees itself as “the best team to train him into a Grand Tour winner” and added that “everyone wants to talk to Seixas, everyone wants him”. While no concrete negotiations are underway, Plugge indicated the team is ready to compete for his signature if he decides to leave his current team.
Visma | Lease a Bike highlighted its existing leader Jonas Vingegaard and its focus on developing future talent, naming Davide Piganzoli as a younger rider under the same programme. The French prospect is also being pursued by other squads, including UAE Team Emirates‑XRG, Lidl‑Trek, INEOS and Pinarello‑Q36, which have reportedly floated contracts worth up to €13 million.
The team emphasized that any move would respect Seixas’s existing contract and that they would wait for his decision, positioning themselves as a long‑term development option rather than a purely financial competitor.
