Wilco Kelderman Wins Dutch Road Race Title, Rules Out Tour de France

Wilco Kelderman (Visma‑Lease a Bike) soloed to victory in the elite men’s road race at the Dutch National Championships in Nijmegen, finishing more than a minute ahead of the chase group. It was his first road‑race win in over a decade and earned him the Dutch champion’s jersey.

Kelderman said he had not prepared for the Tour de France and confirmed he will not be part of Visma‑Lease a Bike’s Tour squad, adding that he hopes not to wear the champion’s jersey in the Tour. The team is still evaluating replacements for injured rider Edoardo Affini, with names such as Bart Lemmen, Ben Tulett and Jorgen Nordhagen mentioned.

On the same day, teammate Lieke Nooijen won the women’s national road race, securing the title after a sprint finish. Both victories were highlighted as a successful day for the Visma‑Lease a Bike program at the championships.
