Vismaya Mohanlal debuts in Malayalam thriller 'Thudakkam

Vismaya Mohanlal, the daughter of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, is set to make her acting debut in the action‑thriller film *Thudakkam*. The movie, directed and co‑written by Jude Anthany Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas, is scheduled for release on 7 August 2026. Vismaya plays the lead role of Meenu, with her father appearing in a cameo.

Before entering films, Vismaya has built a profile as a poet, painter and Muay Thai practitioner, earning praise from Amitabh Bachchan for her collection *Grains of Stardust*. Mohanlal celebrated his daughter’s launch on social media, sharing the film’s poster and expressing that “a father’s heart couldn’t ask for more”. His wife, Suchitra Mohanlal, presented director Jude Anthany Joseph with a Swiss watch as a token of gratitude for the film’s handling of Vismaya’s debut.
