Visually impaired youths from Nice complete sensory trip to Paris

Seven visually impaired youths, aged 12 to 15, from Nice recently completed a four-day sensory and cultural trip to Paris. The initiative, titled ‘Hand in Hand for Everyone’s Happiness’, was organized by ANICES and APLA.

The group of twelve, which included seven young people and five accompanying adults, traveled from Nice-Ville station to explore major landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, the City of Science and Industry, and Disneyland Paris. The program was designed to foster independence and sensory discovery.

During the visit to the Eiffel Tower, participants used a transparent elevator to experience the height of the structure. While some participants observed the city through shapes and colors, others relied on verbal descriptions from staff to visualize the Seine and other Parisian monuments. The experience emphasized tactile and auditory sensations to facilitate engagement with the capital.
