Vita Barbić wins silver in javelin at World U20 Championships

Croatian athlete Vita Barbić won the silver medal in the women's javelin throw at the World Athletics U20 Championships held in Eugene, Oregon. Barbić, a former European champion, secured her second place with a throw of 56.37 meters.

Egypt's Aseel Osama Abdel Hamid claimed the gold medal with a best throw of 59.82 meters. The bronze medal was awarded to Tai Yu-Chin of Taiwan, who recorded a distance of 54.34 meters.

Barbić's performance follows a strong continental record, having previously secured gold at the European U20 and U18 levels. Following the championships in the United States, she is scheduled to compete in the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
