Vitale sisters win top prizes at Don Enrico Smaldone piano competition

Sisters Carlotta and Ludovica Vitale from Grumento Nova achieved a joint first prize at the 16th “Don Enrico Smaldone” European Piano Competition held in Potenza from September 13 to 15, 2026.

The event is part of the international Alink-Argerich Foundation circuit. Carlotta Vitale earned a first prize ex-aequo in the Solo Piano Section, Category A, with a score of 96/100. Ludovica Vitale received a first prize ex-aequo in the Solo Piano Section, Category B, with a score of 95/100.
