Vitalie Damașcan nets winner for Hapoel Jerusalem in Israeli Cup

Moldovan forward Vitalie Damașcan, 27, scored in the 48th minute to give Hapoel Jerusalem a 1‑0 win over Maccabi Petah Tikva in the third round of Israel's Cup competition. The goal secured the team's victory in the match and marked Damașcan's first goal for Hapoel Jerusalem since joining the club on 1 July 2026, after a transfer from Maccabi Bnei Reineh.

Damașcan, a product of Zimbru Chișinău’s academy, has previously played for clubs in Moldova, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Switzerland, Bosnia‑Herzegovina and Israel, including Sheriff Tiraspol, Torino, Fortuna Sittard, RKC Waalwijk, Sepsi, FC Voluntari, FC Stade‑Lausanne‑Ouchy, HŠK Zrinjski and two spells with Maccabi Petah Tikva. He has earned 46 caps for the Moldova national team, scoring five goals. The win advances Hapoel Jerusalem in the cup tournament.
