Vitalis to showcase organic vegetable varieties in the Netherlands
Vitalis, a member of the Enza Zaden group, will host the ‘Discovery Field Days Organic’ in Voorst, Netherlands, from September 22 to 24, 2026. The event is designed for growers and professionals in the organic sector to examine the company’s organic vegetable portfolio, including open-field crops.
Key highlights include the introduction of two Hokkaido pumpkin varieties, ‘Spring Light F1’ and ‘Leo Light F1’, which are noted for disease resistance, storage capabilities, and suitability for mechanical harvesting. A dedicated pumpkin event on September 24 will feature expert discussions on market trends and a live demonstration of mechanical harvesting.
Additionally, the event will showcase lettuce varieties with resistance to Nasonovia biotype Nr. 1, including the new iceberg lettuce variety ‘Lenovia’. The organic assortment will feature both certified organic seeds and untreated conventional seeds suitable for organic farming, alongside updates on carrot and onion breeding programs.
