Viterbo agricultural farm destroyed by large fire

A large fire destroyed several buildings at the Danilo Camilli agricultural farm in Viterbo, Italy. The blaze broke out during the night between September 10 and 11 in the Castel d'Asso area, causing significant damage to structures, goods, and machinery.

Among the losses are agricultural products such as potatoes and tomatoes, as well as cold storage units, offices, and farming equipment including tractors. The high temperatures caused some roofs to collapse and damaged installed photovoltaic panels. Firefighters worked for several hours to contain the flames and secure the area.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. While a short circuit is currently the primary hypothesis, investigators are also considering whether recent severe weather on September 10 may have played a role.
