Viterbo celebrates Fiera di Santa Rosa with local food markets

The city of Viterbo is celebrating the traditional Fiera di Santa Rosa, a major local event honoring the city's patron saint. The festivities combine religious observance with popular celebrations, drawing thousands of residents and tourists to the historic center.

As part of the celebrations, the Mercato della Terra Slow Food-Tuscia in Bio is returning to the city on September 4. This market features local agricultural producers and artisans from the Tuscia region, offering products such as Proceno garlic, saffron, organic hazelnuts, honey, and various cheeses. The market aims to promote sustainable agriculture and allow visitors to connect directly with local producers.

The fair's itinerary spans several key locations, including Piazza della Rocca, Via Cavour, and Via Marconi, leading toward the sanctuary of Santa Rosa. In addition to food stalls featuring local specialties like Vallerano porchetta and marinated eels, the event includes artisanal crafts such as woodworking and artistic prints.
