Viterbo City Council: Opposition walks out over Francigena administrator absence
Seven opposition councilors walked out of the Viterbo City Council session to protest the absence of Elisabetta Ferrari, the administrator of the municipal company Francigena. The protest occurred during a meeting intended to review the company’s recovery plan.
Representatives from Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia, the Democratic Party, and the Mixed Group left the chamber, citing a lack of respect and the failure to honor requests for Ferrari’s presence. While Council President Marco Ciorba noted that Ferrari had communicated her inability to attend due to prior commitments, opposition members described the absence as unacceptable.
Despite the walkout, Councilor Elena Angiani presented the semi-annual report. She described the company’s performance as very positive, reporting an estimated profit of approximately 63,000 euros with a projected year-end close of 169,000 euros. While the pharmacy sector remains the most fragile area, Angiani noted it is showing signs of improvement.
