Viterbo Council Criticizes Budget Report as Too Brief

During a Viterbo municipal council meeting on the budget amendment, opposition councillors accused budget assessor Elena Angiani of delivering an eight‑and‑a‑half‑minute report that lacked detail. Council members Alessandra Troncarelli (PD), Letizia Chiatti and Giulio De Carlois said the presentation was far shorter than the one given in the finance commission and failed to explain key spending choices.

The critics questioned the claim of balanced finances, highlighted a recent €437,000 increase in administrators' salaries, and demanded clarification on €500,000 earmarked for Christmas events and funds for the San Pellegrino in Fiore project. Angiani replied that the concise format was a technical decision and that the omitted details had already been covered in the commission meeting.
