Viterbo crime rates decline as residential thefts drop 30%

The Prefecture of Viterbo has reported a significant decrease in crime rates across the Tuscia region following recent security meetings with local mayors and law enforcement. Data analyzed during thematic meetings held in Nepi and Bomarzo indicates a positive trend in public safety.

In the area overseen by the Civita Castellana Carabinieri company, criminal activity has dropped by approximately 23% over the last eight months. This exceeds the overall provincial decrease, which stands at 10%. Specifically, residential thefts in the Viterbo area have seen a 30% reduction.

The meetings, which included provincial police leadership and mayors from various municipalities, serve as a tool to strengthen the relationship between authorities and local communities. The Prefecture emphasized the central role of mayors as territorial authorities regarding security and civil protection.
