Viterbo illuminates Palazzo Papale for Fragile X Syndrome Awareness Day

The city of Viterbo is participating in the European Fragile X Syndrome Awareness Day by illuminating the Palazzo Papale in blue. The initiative, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, is part of a broader series of events held across various Italian and European cities to raise awareness and provide information about this hereditary genetic condition.

Fragile X syndrome is a genetic disorder that can cause cognitive disabilities, learning difficulties, and social challenges. Local officials, including Mayor Chiara Frontini, stated that the illumination is a symbolic gesture to support the Italian Fragile X Syndrome Association and its efforts to assist affected individuals and their families. The city aims to highlight this rare disease, which remains insufficiently understood by the general public, while promoting scientific research and social inclusion.
