Viterbo launches Corpi nel Piombo cultural project

The “Corpi nel Piombo” project has launched in Viterbo, an initiative supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Viterbo. Organized by the Twain Dance Production Center, the program aims to connect Renaissance figurative art with contemporary dance, theater, and live music.

The project is based on recent scientific studies and diagnostic investigations led by Professor Costanza Barbieri, in collaboration with CNR-INO Florence and the Politecnico delle Marche. These studies have provided new insights into Sebastiano del Piombo’s works, specifically “Pietà” and “Flagellazione di Cristo.”

The program features site-specific performances and workshops at various locations, including Palazzo dei Priori, the Luigi Rossi Danielli Civic Museum, Piazza del Plebiscito, and the National Etruscan Museum – Rocca Albornoz. It involves various national and international artists and serves as a training pathway for students from the University of Tuscia.
