Viterbo launches orientation service for women's economic autonomy
The Kyanos social promotion association has launched the Sportello di Orientamento per Donne in Viterbo, Italy. The initiative is supported by the Municipality of Viterbo and the Lazio Region as part of efforts to promote women's rights and heritage.
The service provides free listening, information, and guidance regarding legal rights, available benefits, and local services. It was developed following insights gained from the Penelope Anti-Violence Center, where organizers identified a critical need for support regarding economic violence.
Recognizing that financial dependence, such as control over money or restrictions on employment, can prevent women from leaving abusive situations, the center aims to foster independence. By helping women understand their professional and social resources, the project seeks to prevent violence through the promotion of economic autonomy.
