Viterbo mourns the death of long-time priest Don Ivo Bruni

The Diocese of Viterbo is mourning the death of Don Ivo Bruni, the long-time parish priest of Sant’Angelo in Spatha. Don Bruni passed away following a sudden illness after being admitted to the Santa Rosa Hospital emergency room.

Bishop Orazio Francesco Piazza presided over the funeral services, which were attended by a large crowd and co-celebrated by Emeritus Bishop Lino Fumagalli along with over forty priests. During the service, Bishop Piazza praised Bruni’s character, describing him as a “good servant” who possessed deep cultural sensitivity and a profound human and spiritual truth.

Don Bruni, who had recently turned 87, held numerous significant roles within the diocese throughout his long ministry. His service included roles as Diocesan Chancellor, Director of the Diocesan Office for Family Pastoral Care, and various parish leadership positions dating back to his ordination in 1964.
