Viterbo province hosts summer festivals and permits small pets at historic sites

The province of Viterbo in Italy’s Tuscia region will stage a week‑long series of cultural events from July 30 to August 6 2026, featuring over 90 free‑entry programmes such as the Ombre Festival, which blends literature, journalism and civic dialogue, and the 66th Fiera del Vino in Montefiascone, showcasing local wine traditions.

A new regulation also came into force allowing small dogs in the historic sites of the Tuscia Monumental Villas network, including Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola and Villa Lante in Bagnaia. Pets must be of small size, kept in a carrier or on a leash as specified for each venue, broadening access for visitors with animals.
