Viticulture traditions and water reuse highlighted through grape harvests

Various regions are highlighting viticulture through traditional and experimental grape harvests. In La Geria, residents and tourists participated in a traditional harvest involving camels to honor viticulturists and winemakers. During the event, participants trod on over 300 kilograms of Listán Blanco grapes at the old La Geria winery press.

In Tijuana, the Comisión Estatal de Servicios Públicos de Tijuana (Cespt) conducted a symbolic harvest at an experimental vineyard to demonstrate the potential of treated wastewater. Led by Director General Mónica Vega Aguirre and enologist Camillo Magoni, the event focused on educating families and children about the sanitation process and the responsible reuse of water resources in agriculture.
