Viticulture updates: Vicoli diVini postponed and vineyard longevity masterclass held
The tenth anniversary event of Vicoli diVini has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 11, due to bad weather. The event, organized by the Saturnalia association and the Administration of Vibo Valentia, celebrates a decade of promoting Calabrian viticulture and biodiversity.
In Belgrade, the “Great Vineyards for Life” masterclass was held during the Wine Vision by Open Balkan event. Featuring James Suckling and Marco Simonit, the session focused on techniques for managing ancient vineyards and ensuring vine longevity through specialized pruning. Suckling demonstrated the impact of these agronomic practices by comparing Pinot Noir vintages from his Mirae Vineyard in New Zealand, showing how improved vine health led to more expressive wines.
