Vito Cozzoli elected President of Lega Volley Femminile

Vito Cozzoli has been elected as the new President of the Lega Volley Femminile during an ordinary assembly in Venice. Cozzoli, the current CEO of Autostrade per lo Stato and former president of Sport e Salute, secured 18.75 votes, defeating candidate Massimo Beduschi, who received 11.25 votes. He succeeds Mauro Fabris, who led the league for 20 years.

The assembly also established the new Board of Directors, including representatives from Serie A1 and Serie A2. Key appointments include Giuseppe Pirola for budget matters, Pietro Paolella as president of the Consulta, and Enzo Bruno Barbaro as CEO of the Lega Volley Femminile. The assembly unanimously approved the financial statements from the previous season.

In other sports news, Argentine striker Annika Paz, winner of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Silver Boot, has debuted in Serie A with Sassuolo. Additionally, Italian women's national football captain Cristiana Girelli discussed the upcoming World Cup 2027 qualification playoffs against Belarus.
