Vito Mielnicki Jr. defeats Austin Williams by unanimous decision

Vito Mielnicki Jr. defeated Austin “Ammo” Williams by unanimous decision in a 10-round middleweight bout at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The fight took place on the Andy Ruiz Jr. vs. Damian Knyba card.

Mielnicki, improving his record to 24-1 with 13 knockouts, secured the victory after scoring a knockdown against Williams in the first round. All three judges scored the bout 98-91 in favor of Mielnicki. Mielnicki utilized his size and reach advantage to control the distance, landing effective jabs, uppercuts, and body shots.

Williams, who fell to 20-3, struggled to overcome the early knockdown and Mielnicki’s cleaner punching. Although Williams landed a counter left in the eighth round that bloodied Mielnicki’s nose, Mielnicki maintained control to sweep the scorecards. The win allows Mielnicki to retain his WBA Continental Americas and WBO Global middleweight titles.
