Vitória and Bahia prepare for 508th Ba-Vi derby at Barradão

The 508th edition of the Ba-Vi derby between Bahia and Vitória is set to take place this Sunday at the Barradão stadium for the 24th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Vitória has announced that all tickets have been sold out exclusively to club members, with an expected capacity of approximately 30,000 fans.

Historically, Vitória holds a significant advantage at the Barradão in Série A, having not lost to Bahia in this division at this venue since 1989. In the current 2026 season, however, Bahia has held the upper hand in local matchups with two wins and one draw.

The match will feature a duel between two young strikers making their derby debuts: Bahia’s 22-year-old Argentine Alejo Veliz, a high-value signing, and Vitória’s Renê, who has been in peak form this season. Bahia currently sits in fifth place, while Vitória occupies twelfth, looking to distance itself from the relegation zone.
