Vitória Cathedral begins celebrations for 475 years of devotion

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Vitória has begun the Oitavário, a series of religious observances in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Victory. This year's celebration marks 475 years of devotion to the patroness of the Archdiocese.

The first night of the novena was led by Archbishop Dom Ângelo Ademir Mezzari. The festivities coincide with the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation. The devotion to Our Lady of Victory is deeply rooted in the history of Vitória, dating back to the arrival of Vasco Fernandes Coutinho and the establishment of the settlement in the 16th century.
