Vittel hosts Vit’elle Games to promote female sports participation
The second edition of the Vit’elle Games took place in Vittel, France, involving female students from the Jules Verne middle school. The event focused on female sports participation, featuring Hyrox—a discipline combining running and strength exercises—as well as a roundtable discussion regarding the decline of sports participation among adolescent girls.
During the discussion, Yanne Leduc from MGEN presented research indicating that the cessation of sports practice during adolescence is six times more frequent in girls than in boys. The study suggests that environmental factors, such as the need for safe spaces where girls can exercise without judgment regarding their bodies or performance, play a significant role in this trend.
