ViuTV to premiere new cooking show ‘Cooking Research Lab’ on September 28

ViuTV is set to premiere a new cooking program, ‘Cooking Research Lab’ (煮題研習社), on September 28. The show features celebrities including Kim@ROVER, Ranya, Stick, and Mabel, who act as apprentices attempting to recreate high-end dishes under the guidance of expert chefs.

The series will cover various culinary themes. The first episode focuses on traditional flavors, with Kim and Mabel learning from Chef Jacky, a specialist with 25 years of experience in claypot rice, to prepare golden preserved meat mixed rice. The second episode emphasizes fast-paced cooking, featuring maple syrup seven-spice pork chops and ginger beer chicken wings.

The third episode addresses environmental food culture and zero-waste cooking, with instructor Andy demonstrating how to utilize often-discarded ingredients, such as broccoli stalks, to create dishes like kale chips.
