Viva La Mujer Awards nominates Dominican women for leadership

Several women have been nominated for the Viva La Mujer Awards 2026, an initiative designed to celebrate women who make significant contributions to their communities through leadership and professional excellence.

Kenia Fernández, a Dominican entrepreneur and content creator, has been nominated for her business trajectory and commitment to female entrepreneurship. After serving 12 years in the Dominican National Police, Fernández moved to the United States in 2017. She has since founded KF Permanent Beauty in New Jersey, KF American Flow in San Juan de la Maguana, and the intimate care brand KF Femme.

Ileana Ramírez Portorreal, a professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), has been nominated in the Outstanding Educator of the Year category. Ramírez Portorreal teaches in the School of Marketing and works with UASD-New York, where she focuses on strengthening ties between the academy and the Dominican diaspora through training and institutional outreach.
