VIVANT drama reaches critical plot turning point
The TBS Sunday Theater drama ‘VIVANT’ has reached a critical turning point in its second season. In episode 16, it was revealed that the mysterious character Liu Mingxuan is actually played by lead actor Masato Sakai, marking his third role in the series alongside Nogi Yusuke and ‘F’. This revelation, involving a backstory set five years ago in Beijing, has drawn significant attention on social media for Sakai’s acting range.
As the plot progresses into episode 17, the narrative focuses on a rescue operation for members of the ‘Beppan’ unit held by the organization ‘Xinxi’. Following a decision by Commander Sakurai to potentially terminate the captives via agents to prevent information leaks, protagonist Nogi Yusuke makes a major decision to pursue a direct rescue mission.
Actor Hiroomi Takahashi, who plays the double agent Cho Keishi, expressed his excitement about joining the second season and participating in overseas filming. The series is approaching the conclusion of its first half with the upcoming episode 18.
