Vivek Rajvanshi elected unopposed as Kota Deputy Mayor

Vivek Rajvanshi of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been elected unopposed as the Deputy Mayor of the Kota Municipal Corporation. Following the recent election of Mayor Anusuya Goswami, the BJP maintained its dominance in the corporation, holding a clear majority with 65 out of 100 wards.

Rajvanshi, a veteran politician and former leader of the opposition, filed his nomination after the Indian National Congress decided to boycott the Deputy Mayor election. The Congress party accused the BJP of undermining democracy and pressuring their members, leading to their decision to withdraw from the process. Because no other candidates filed nominations by the deadline, the election officer officially declared Rajvanshi elected without a vote.
