Vivek Vaswani recalls 9/11 attacks while at Toronto film festival

Actor and producer Vivek Vaswani has marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks by recalling his personal experience during the event. Vaswani shared that he was in Toronto for the world premiere of his first English-language film at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) when the attacks occurred.

Reflecting on the morning of September 11, 2001, Vaswani noted that he and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker had gone to an early screening of ‘Monsoon Wedding’ at 7:00 AM. He stated that when they exited the cinema at 10:00 AM, the world had already changed due to the attacks on the United States.

To commemorate the day, Vaswani shared a throwback photograph featuring himself, actress Pooja Bhatt, and actor Rahul Bose. He described the event as a ‘gruesome day’ and reflected on the lasting impact the attacks had on global politics and security policies.
