Vivekanagar Hockey Club inspected for food safety violations in Bengaluru

The Department of Food Safety and Drug Administration conducted an inspection at the Vivekanagar Hockey Club in Bengaluru, discovering significant hygiene and safety violations. Officials reported that the kitchen was maintained under unhygienic conditions and found evidence of pest infestation in food preparation areas, posing a risk of contamination.

During the raid, authorities seized 40 bottles of expired soft drinks and several soda bottles that lacked proper FSSAI-compliant labeling. The inspection also revealed failures to follow required food safety measures regarding the storage and handling of products.

Srivinas K, Commissioner of the Food Safety and Drug Administration, stated that a notice has been issued to the Food Business Operator. Legal action is expected to follow under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and applicable 2011 regulations.
