Viver hosts exhibition on the origins of Valencian aviation

The municipality of Viver is hosting the exhibition ‘València aprèn a volar’ (Valencia learns to fly), which explores the origins of aeronautics in the Valencian community. Organized in collaboration with the Fundació Aèria de la Comunitat Valenciana, the exhibit features models, explanatory panels, and two original aircraft: a Blériot XI and a Bücker 131 school plane.

The exhibition highlights the historical connection between the region and aviation, noting that the first flight in Spain took place in Paterna on September 5, 1909. Viver itself holds a significant aeronautical history, having served as the headquarters for the Republican Army's aviation during the Civil War. This legacy continues through local economic activity, including the company Titan, which is a European reference in specialized aerial works and operates a local airfield. The exhibition is open to the public until October 15.
