Vivian Hsu Turns to Property Investing After Lehman‑Era Stock Loss

Actress Vivian Hsu said a childhood fortune‑teller warned her against trading shares, a caution she ignored when a financial adviser urged her to buy stocks. She entered the market just before the 2008 Lehman Brothers collapse and suffered heavy losses, prompting her to avoid equities altogether. Hsu has since shifted her capital to tangible assets, buying rental properties and handling lease agreements personally. She describes meeting a senior tenant who is a friend of actress Ariel Lin’s father, highlighting her hands‑on landlord role.

Hsu also shared family details, noting that her son Dalton will turn 11 and that she gives him a 30‑minute bedtime massage to ease adolescent growing pains. She enjoys spending time with him watching anime and sports, and mentions his interest in table tennis after seeing her film "Ping Pong Boy." Looking ahead, Hsu announced a new comedy‑horror movie slated for September and said she is working on a long‑awaited music album, possibly featuring a collaboration with her son.
