Vivienne Jolie Files Petition to Drop Pitt Surname

Vivienne Jolie‑Pitt, the youngest daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court to change her legal name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie‑Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. The filing, submitted shortly after she turned 18, lists “personal” reasons for the request and sets a hearing for 2 November 2026.

Vivienne is the fourth of the six Jolie‑Pitt children to seek removal of their father’s surname. Older siblings Shiloh, Zahara and Maddox have already filed similar petitions, with Shiloh’s name change already approved in 2024 and the others pending. The family’s split, initiated by Jolie’s 2016 divorce filing and finalized in late 2024 after years of custody and financial disputes, has left a lingering rift reflected in these legal moves. The latest petition continues the pattern of the children distancing themselves from Brad Pitt’s name amid ongoing private family tensions.

The case underscores the continuing legal and personal fallout from the high‑profile divorce, while the court’s decision, expected in November, will determine whether Vivienne can formally drop the Pitt surname.
