Vivienno Frank Sr. releases new memoir on Aruba history
Author Vivienno Frank Sr., known for his work ‘Aruba en een keuze uit haar toponiemen’, has released a new book titled ‘Bida un tempo na Boegoeroei’, subtitled ‘Recuerdonan di un Era Perdi’.
The publication serves as a collection of memoirs detailing daily life in the Boegoeroei neighborhood of Aruba. It covers Frank’s experiences from his childhood in the early 1930s until his family moved to Playa in 1945 following the end of World War II.
The book explores various historical and social aspects of the era, including local religious life, food supplies, education, and the impact of World War II. It also touches upon local industries and traditions, such as aloe cultivation, fishing, and community celebrations.
