viviON launches cloud gaming service for smartphone browsers

viviON, a subsidiary of Geo Holdings and the parent company of DLsite, has launched ‘viviON GAMES’, a new cloud gaming and PC game sales platform. The service allows users to play purchased PC games directly through a smartphone or tablet browser without the need to install dedicated apps or download large files.

Because the games run on dedicated viviON servers, gameplay is not dependent on the specific hardware specifications of the user's mobile device. The service utilizes a buy-to-play model rather than a subscription, allowing users to purchase individual titles. To encourage engagement, the platform offers free trial periods for games; users who register for an account can access extended trial times and save their progress to the server to continue playing after purchase.

The initial lineup includes over 30 titles, such as ‘Aquarium wa Odoranai Special Edition’, ‘Yomawari III’, and ‘NKODICE’. To mark the launch, a campaign is running until September 30, offering reward points and a chance to win a complete set of the current game library for registered users.
