Vivo outage leaves Cuiabá residents without internet and phone

On the morning of the 28th, Vivo experienced a widespread signal failure in Cuiabá and the neighboring city of Várzea Grande, affecting 5G service and causing customers to lose both internet and telephone connectivity. Monitoring sites recorded a surge in complaints, with a peak of 170 reports at 11:27 am, after which the number of notifications began to decline. Vivo had not issued any statement regarding maintenance or the cause of the disruption.

The municipal Procon of Cuiabá reminded consumers that interruptions caused by the municipal "Operação Telefone sem Fio"—a campaign to remove irregular or abandoned wiring from city poles—do not relieve providers of their legal obligations. According to Procon manager Mariana Almeida Borges, customers are entitled to a proportional discount on their bills and may claim compensation for documented damages. The agency advises users to contact the provider, record the outage times, keep receipts for extra data purchases, and, if necessary, file a complaint with Procon for possible fines against the operator.
