MediaTek unveils Dimensity 9600 Pro with 2nm technology
MediaTek has unveiled the Dimensity 9600 Pro, its most advanced mobile processor to date, utilizing TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process. The new chipset features an all-big-core CPU architecture with Arm C2-Ultra cores reaching speeds of 4.55 GHz. It is designed to support Agentic AI, with an NPU capable of handling on-device models up to 30B parameters, promising significant improvements in power efficiency and AI task execution.
The chip is expected to power upcoming flagship smartphones, including the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max and the Vivo X500 Pro Max. The Oppo model is rumored to feature a triple 200MP camera system and support a Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit. The Vivo model is anticipated to include a 7,000 mAh battery and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens.
MediaTek also introduced the Dimensity 9600M, a variant based on the Dimensity 9500 hardware but enhanced with updated AI capabilities and 3nm fabrication to bring flagship-level AI features to a broader range of premium devices.
