Vivo X500 series scheduled for launch on September 21

Vivo is preparing to launch its X500 smartphone series in China on September 21. The new flagship lineup aims to provide professional-grade photography and video capabilities in a compact form factor, targeting travelers and content creators.

Leaked unboxing footage of a white variant shows the standard X500 featuring a 6.59-inch display and a 90W charger. The device is expected to utilize a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYT-828 main sensor. The series is also highlighted for its advanced optical technologies, including a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, CIPA 7.0 OIS stabilization, and enhanced performance in challenging lighting conditions.

According to Huang Tao, Vivo's Vice President of Product, the series represents a strategic shift toward high-quality dynamic video recording alongside static photography. Expected features include 4K 120fps Log video and native 8K live streaming capabilities.
