Vivo X500 series confirmed for September launch in China

Vivo has officially confirmed the September launch of its X500 series in China, which will include three models: the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max. The brand is skipping the X400 designation, a move attributed to tetraphobia in East Asian cultures.

The series places a heavy emphasis on professional-grade videography and imaging. The Pro models are expected to feature the ZEISS Ultra Dynamic Main Camera, utilizing a 50MP Blueprint Phantom 900 sensor co-developed with Sony. This hardware aims to deliver a dynamic range of 17EV, allowing for high-detail capture in extreme lighting conditions. Video capabilities include 4K recording at 240fps for slow motion and 4K 120fps HDR support.

To enhance stability, the X500 Pro Max is slated to include a 3-degree gimbal-level optical image stabilization (OIS) system and achieve a CIPA 7.0 professional stabilization rating. Early benchmarks from Geekbench suggest the devices may utilize the unreleased MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset, which is rumored to be built on a 2nm process.
