The Panhellenic Federation of Vlach Cultural Associations (POPSVB) has issued a formal protest to Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis regarding Resolution 2674 (2026) adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The Federation expressed indignation over the resolution's recommendation that Greek authorities invest in preserving Vlach heritage in Northern Greece.

In a letter addressed to the Foreign Minister and copied to the President, Prime Minister, and other political leaders, the Federation described the recommendations as “without object.” The organization further rejected attempts by Romanian members of parliament to act as “patrons and protectors of Vlach-speaking Hellenism.”

The controversial resolution also addresses Greece's obligations as a Council of Europe member, including human rights, the rule of law, and the protection of minority rights. It specifically references the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages and the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, which Greece has not ratified.
