Vladica Stanković removes venomous viper from Vranja family home

Serbian snake‑handler Vladica Stanković safely extracted a large venomous viper, known locally as a poskok, that had entered the wall of a house belonging to the Demirović family in Vranje, Serbia. The incident was filmed and posted on his Instagram account, where he demonstrated the removal without protective gear and reassured the frightened family members.

Stanković warned that while most snakes encountered in Serbia are harmless, viper bites can be dangerous and emphasized proper first‑aid measures, advising victims to stay calm, keep the bite area still, and seek immediate medical help. He urged the public to avoid attempting to catch or handle snakes themselves and to keep doors closed during the summer months to prevent similar intrusions.
