Vladimir Bolea clarifies Polaris Aviation Group authorization status

Moldovan Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Vladimir Bolea, has issued conflicting statements regarding the authorization status of Polaris Aviation Group. While the Minister previously claimed the airline had passed all necessary controls prior to authorization, he now states that the operator “has not yet been authorized.”

Bolea has attempted to distance his ministry from the certification process, asserting that responsibility lies with the Investment Agency, the ASP, and legal professionals handling the file. This shift in stance follows the company receiving approval from the Council for Examining Investments of Importance for State Security, a development that occurred on the same day another airline, FLYONE, was ordered to sell its shares within 90 days.

The Civil Aviation Authority has previously clarified that Polaris is currently in the certification process and that its recent flight involving an Airbus A321 was a non-commercial repositioning of the aircraft.
