Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. left Tuesday night’s 8‑6 loss to the Washington Nationals after feeling right hamstring tightness. He was replaced in the fourth inning by Kazuma Okamoto. Manager John Schneider said, “He was a little sore and he wanted to stay in… I don’t want to lose him for an extended period of time.”

Guerrero, a six‑time All‑Star, is batting .265 with six homers, 44 RBIs and a .702 OPS this season, a decline from the prior year. The Blue Jays (49‑59) remain in last place in the AL East, trailing the division leader by 14 games and sitting 5½ games out of a playoff spot.
