Vladimir Guerrero Jr. eyes offensive rebound for Toronto Blue Jays

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the Dominican outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays, said he feels a shift in his offensive outlook despite a sluggish start to the 2026 season. After 64 games he is posting a .752 OPS, three home runs and an OPS+ of 108, well below his career expectations. Guerrero Jr. told reporters he has been working with the team's hitting coaches, trying to lift the ball more and has confidence that his luck will turn.

The Blue Jays sit at 32‑34 on the season and are awaiting the return of several injured players. Guerrero Jr., who recently secured a $500 million contract, expressed optimism that the team can improve on last year’s performance and that his contributions could help spark a resurgence.

He emphasized that he will continue to work hard, stay focused at the plate, and “wait for his swing to fire,” hoping the upcoming weeks will bring better results for both himself and the franchise.
