Vladimir Putin strengthens air defense around Valdai residence

Russian forces have constructed an additional ring of air defense towers around President Vladimir Putin’s residence in Valdai. OSINT analysis and satellite imagery indicate that approximately 16 new structures were built in October within a 50-kilometer radius of the estate.

The defensive perimeter reportedly includes Pantsir or Tor missile systems. These positions extend through the Khotilovo military base, which is frequently used by the president, and along the shores of the Vishnevolotsk reservoir.

On Lisiy Island, located within the reservoir, military forces have constructed a laboratory complex. Reports suggest this facility may be linked to Russian biological weapons research. In total, there are now more than 50 air defense positions identified around the Valdai area, a significant concentration for a region with a population of fewer than 100,000 people.
